LAST ITEM HELD MATCHING THIS TITLE STATED:

The Salvation Army Book Department, London, 1912. hardcover, 5¼" x 7¾", without dust jacket. Binding is sound, and text clear. Book in GOOD condition. This biography of General Booth, 1878 founder of the 'Salvation Army', includes a Preface by his son, one of his successors in the 'Army'. The organisation, which spread over the world, became known for the rousing music of its open-air services, its shelters for the down-and-out and the courage with which its members penetrated the downgraded districts of the great cities. Our copy has multicoloured wrapping paper covering its boards. It appears to have water-damaged covers, and a sigature on rear endpapers.
