Andre Deutsch Limited, London - first edition, 1989. Hardcover, 9½" x 672", with dust jacket. AS NEW book in AS NEW unclipped dust jacket. Dark-blue cloth-bound boards with gold type to spine, seventeen delightful b&w drawings as chapter heads (by Oldfield, as is the watercolour artwork on cover). The author has been handling horses all her life, and earned her living from them for thirty years. Her memories reveal the flavour of an Irish horse-dealer's life; the atmosphere of the fairs; the characters encountered (both equine & human); the comic mishaps - all told with a pleasureable humour. All the stories are true, but she doesn't vouch for those told to her by others. A book to delight any horse lover.
