LAST ITEM HELD MATCHING THIS TITLE STATED:

Blandford Press, London, undated (1945). Hardcover, 5¾" x 8¾. Book in GOOD condition. This is a nostalgic and sentimental record of a couple's decision to move from London to the Essex-Suffolk border and live on a broken-down farm during the early decades of the twentieth century. While all the locals are long-term small farmers, the author specialises in close observation of the various characters he meets, and the variety of natural wildlife. The scraper-board illustrations by Joan Rickarby are outstanding.
