The Italian Navy had been decimated with the loss of all of its capital ships. However the allied fleets faired no better with the Ark Royal, Courageous, Glorious, Barham, Repulse, Prince of Wales and Hood out of the war, and Australia lost it's flagship Sydney. The Japanese having just bombed Pearl Harbour had sunk much of the American Pacific Fleet including the Arizona, all this within two years of the start of WW2. This book looks at the war up to 1941, written from daily records, using contemporary photographs, with no idea as to the out come of this conflict.
