They were young, courageous and revered in Germany and given responsibility to roam and destroy at will - they were the U-Boat Commanders: Karl Dönitz (later Admiral) Otto Weddigen, Eric Topp, Jochen Mohr, Joachim Scepepke, Otto Kreschmer and Gunther Prien who entered Holm Sound Scapa Flow in U-47, manoeuvred past three sunken ships and entered into the heavily fortified home base, of the North Atlantic British Fleet. After two aborted attempts and near grounding, Prien discharged a number of torpedos into the fleet, sinking the 'Royal Oak', and 'Repulse'. Near fine condition. 176pp. 285 mm x 225 mm.
