American Armed Services & British 'M9' Intelligence, War Office. A mint condition - never opened Topographical 1:1,000,000 scale coloured WWII map on rayon acetate. (Commonly called 'silk scarf' prisoner escape maps). Map number 44 'G' depicting South West Java and verso 44 'H' depicting Extreme South of Sumatra. These maps were sewn into the U.S. and R.A.F. pilot's flying jackets when they were sent on remote missions or to aid the pilot to recongnize his location in case of an accidental crash landing. Mint condition. 900 x 600 mm
