This is a photographic record of one of the greatest sailing events ever staged - the last grain race from Belfast 19 October 1938 to Port Lincoln and home via Port Victoria. The eventual winner being the 4 m Barque Moshulu, other vessels in the race being: Padua, Pamir, Passat, Pommern, Olivebank. Archibald Russell; Viking, Winterhude, Lawhill, Killoran, Abraham Rydberg, Kommadore Johnsen (ex Magdalene Vinnen). the detail of this race can be found in 'The Last Grain Race' by the same author. Well illustrated with half tone photographs mainly of the Moshulu of Mariehamn. Nice condition. Original dust jacket over blue cloth covered end boards. 176pp 230 mm x 225mm
