CONDITION Full Black Morocco with heavily tooled Gilt illustrated front and rear, spine has been professionally rebacked with Black Morocco having 5 raised bands and Gilt title, and new eps (very little wear though cnrs buffed) Gilt to all edges, pp xiv 824 with 24 duo tone lithographed illus and 2 full colour lithographs illus all with guards, 2 colour fold out maps, the front map of North Polar ses is torn but intact and bright, map near rear is of the Franklin and Nares expedition and is sl foxed, Frontis portait of Captain Nares has been torn and professionally rebacked and is intact, internally text block is tight and bright, some light foxing mainly to pages near illus, copy is not inscribed. Full-Leather. Very Good++/Not Issued. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
