Humboldt also tried to find a waterway to link two of South America's most dangerous rivers to Orinoco and the Amazon. En route, he encountered electric eels, swarms of virulent insects, crocodiles and natives who used curare-tipped blow guns." CONDITION Bright Blue bds with bevelled edges, elaborately decorated with bright Gilt titles and Black embossed design to both bds (bright with very light wear) All edges are bright Gilt, Lemon eps, pp vii 315 with nice engraved illustrations through out. Tight and mostly very clean, some discolouration to odd illus due to differential paper quality, pencil scribble to eps, not inscribed.. Reprint. Decorative Cloth.
