Her Majesty's Stationery Office, 1954-61. 1st edition. Hardcover (cloth). Good condition/DWs in overall good condition, one torn, repaired, but all intact and sound condition. 4 volumes. All volumes are in good condition, with maps all extant. Dustcovers are in various states, mostly clean and with only minor tears. The dustcover of Volume II only has warranted repair. This is a complete set, with Volumes I, II, and Volume III: Part I and II. Vol. I has bookplate "from the library of the late Mr Hastings Deering [which] has been presented by the trustees of his estate. His lifelong wish was for others to share his joy in good books" [Hastings Derring Memorial Library]. Vol I (only) has been marked on spine of DJ (but not on book) with pen Dewey listing "940.53 ROS". No stickers applied. Vol II is endorsed on fly in pen: "Alan Payne, Garden Island Naval Dockyard". Alan Payne is a well-known Australian nautical figure, and designed the last wooden-hulled America's Cup challenger (12 metre) Gretel II. All volumes in the set are first edition.
