Order Items Advised as Unavailable, Already Sold or Expired

BibliOZ.com gives you online access to more than 20million books from the stock of over 3,000 booksellers worldwide. Many of these booksellers also have open shops or list their book in catalogues or other sales avenues. Unfortunately, it can happen that a book you have ordered will have been sold prior to your order being electronically submitted through the BibliOZ system. There is an unavoidable time lag between the sale over the counter and the bookseller updating their database listings because very few of these secondhand or antiquarian bookshops have electronic point-of-sale recording systems. Usually a dealer will mark a book as ALREADY SOLD when this circumstance occurs.

Sometimes a book that was listed in good faith may not be able to be located by the bookseller (some of these shops stock hundreds of thousands of titles) because it has been missing, due to being shelved incorrectly or possibly stolen. If a bookdealer cannot ship an item in good time for some reason but is not certain that it has been sold, they will give it an UNAVAILABLE status.

Should a bookseller not respond to a BibliOZ electronic order within five (5) days we email a reminder to request a response. If a response is still not received after seven (7) days have elapsed then an automatic EXPIRED status is recorded and a refund processed. Many of these booksellers are sole owner-operators or small family concerns and so an event may occur that prevents them filling the order in a timely manner.

In each circumstance above, once BibliOZ has a status returned for each and every item in an order, a refund is processed for the customer within 24-48 hours of final order status being received. An email is sent to you from BibliOZ advising of the final order status and status of each order item. It is possible for you then to attempt to locate other titles on our system that may be available. You can monitor the status of items in your order at any time by logging in with your user name and password and then clicking on the "Order History" button to bring up your previous and current orders.
